FDA sends warning letters to bakery, dairy farm and four seafood processors

Inspectors from district offices of the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently identified serious violations at four seafood processors, an Ohio bakery and a New York dairy farm, among other food companies, for various food-safety issues. Problems at a bakery in Philadelphia called Cho & So Inc.’s Oh Bok Bakery last October included failure to control pests, clean food-contact surfaces, clean equipment and utensils, and clean and sanitize. In addition, there were plumbing and lighting problems and Korean cake was also misbranded.
Gallagher Farms LLC, a dairy farm in Deansboro, N.Y., was also warned about drug residues found in a cow it sold for slaughter as food.
