Blue Diamond Almonds is amping up its ingredients profile with a new division name and website. The company announced that its ingredients business has changed its name from Industrial Products to Blue Diamond Almonds Global Ingredients Division. The new name is indicative of the division’s customer base of international manufacturers and brands, unrivaled product offerings and innovative, value-add services, the company says.
The largest division within the Sacramento, Calif.-based Blue Diamond Growers umbrella, Blue Diamond Almonds Global Ingredients Division’s new positioning reflects sustained double-digit yearly growth as a dominant global almond supplier.
A new website, www.bdingredients.com, is an important component of the division’s enhanced profile. The site offers resources for food scientists and R&D professionals. A special feature is the Almond Center, which includes a matrix selection tool matching different forms of almonds to specific end-use applications. The Almond Center is organized by categories: confections, cereal, health and energy bars, bakery, snacks, ice cream and other products.
“Transitioning to Blue Diamond Almonds Global Ingredients Division reflects the exciting forward momentum of our business,” says Bill Morecraft, general manager of the division. “We serve global brands with a wide range of best-in-class capabilities—production, QA and food safety, global supply and logistics, product development and much more.”
Morecraft also notes that the division is benefiting from significant investments from its parent, Blue Diamond Growers, in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Turlock, Calif., and a research-and-development center already under construction in Sacramento. Both are expected to be operational in 2013.
“Our customers are very demanding,” Morecraft says. “Blue Diamond Almonds Global Ingredients Division is uniquely able to provide them with an uninterrupted supply of the very best almond ingredients anywhere in any form. Our new manufacturing and R&D facilities demonstrate our deep commitment to innovation and continual progress.”
