Over the past year, consumers have continued to search for better-for-you snack mixes, but at the same time, they're also looking for new and innovative flavors and varieties that are perhaps more exotic than previous incarnations, with touches of indulgence.

Snack mixes today show much promise for widespread appeal. “There is opportunity for growth in the snack mixes industry, as we are beginning to see consumers snack almost as much as they eat full meals,” says Trip Kadey, director of culinary, The French’s Food Co. LLC, Chester, NJ.

Doritos, a Frito-Lay brand, recently launched a new snack mix that combines four different Doritos shapes and flavors in one bag.

Planters recently introduced three dessert-inspired snack mixes that can be enjoyed at home or on the go. A fourth flavor joins the trio in March.
