Key Technology, a member of the Duravant family of operating companies, has announced the promotion of Karel Van Velthoven to advanced inspection systems product marketing manager. Based out of Key’s European Innovation and Solutions Center in Hasselt, Belgium, Van Velthoven is responsible for managing global activities that support the development and sales of Key’s high performance digital sorting and automatic defect removal systems.

From smarter sensor technology available on our world-class VERYX sorters to empowering the data revolution with Information Analytics, we’re continually rolling out game-changing innovations,” said Daniel Leighty, senior director, global sales operations. “Karel possesses a deep understanding of our solutions and target markets as well as the needs of food processors. He’s ideally suited to reflect the voices of our customers and help us steer future product development.
Van Velthoven has been with Key for six years and brings more than 20 years of experience in marketing and sales of high-tech equipment. Prior to this promotion, his positions included customer engagement manager and EMEIA marketing manager. Previously, he was marketing manager at Visys NV, which merged with Key in 2013. Van Velthoven holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and corporate communications from the PXL University in Belgium.
