Product Snapshot: World Peas Brand Peatos, the crunchy puffed snack, debuted its new Ranch flavor at this year’s Natural Products Expo West March 6-8, at the Anaheim Convention Center North Halls, Anaheim Hilton.
“We’re thrilled to be back at Expo West as Platinum Sponsors, and we’re going big with our new flavor release. Ranch makes everything better and we added it to a snack that’s already ‘Better Than Junk Food’. It’s a powerful combination,” says World Peas Brand CEO Nick Desai. “We set out to make a better ranch flavored snack than currently exists on the market, and we believe that we have done it.”
Peatos, a revolutionary crunchy puffed snack made from pulses (peas and lentils), tastes, crunches and satisfies better than junk food, with twice the protein (4 grams) and three times the fiber (3 grams) of Cheetos. Peatos are made with non-GMO ingredients, contain no artificial flavors or synthetic colors and have no added MSG.
“Due to its high plant-based protein content and cleaner ingredients, Peatos bridges the gap between the usual empty-calorie junk-style snacks and better-for-you snacks that lack flavor,” adds Desai.
Peatos is often merchandised in the produce department and is currently available at Kroger and its banner stores including Cala Foods, City Markets, Copps, Dillons, FoodsCo, Fred Meyer Stores, Fry's, King Soopers, Mariano's Fresh Market, Metro Market, Pick 'n Save, QFC, Ralphs, Food 4 Less and Smith's, as well as Vons, Pavilions, Albertsons (SoCal), Safeway (NorCal), Fairway Market, Meijer, Ahold Grocery Group, Wakefern Food Corporation and online on Amazon.
After an exceptional year following its debut, Peatos has garnered numerous awards including the Editor’s Choice Award for Best Salty Snack from Supply Side CPG, Editor’s Pick Award from Progressive Grocer, and the Best New Product Award from Convenience Store News. Additionally, Peatos has been featured in national media outlets including Vogue, Men’s Health, the Wall Street Journal, Today, Cooking Light, The Los Angeles Times and was recently featured as The Snack of The Day on Dr. Oz.
