tna is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Rankin as chief sales officer (CSO). A tna and industry veteran, Jonathan returns to the company to head up tna’s global sales division and support customers as the company branches out into new applications and industry sectors. Based out of tna’s Sydney office, he will be responsible for providing leadership and structure to tna’s rapidly expanding sales team, setting a sales strategy that supports tna’s ambitious growth plans, while ensuring that tna’s business objectives are closely aligned with the needs of its increasingly diverse customer base.
“We’re thrilled to be welcoming Jonathan back into the tna family,” comments Alf Taylor, CEO of tna. “He not only possesses the experience, but as a former employee, he’s also familiar with our history and unique business culture. One of Jonathan’s key strengths is his ability to motivate people through empowerment - a prerequisite to building the close personal customer relationships that tna is known for and which are central to our culture and ultimately our success as a business. He played a key role in our global expansion throughout the 90s and I have no doubt that his innovative and results-driven mindset will shape the future of our business as we embark on the next step of our journey.”
Jonathan’s experience in the food industry spans over three decades. Having held various global management roles at tna from 1993 until 2003, he is well-versed in the company’s culture, business objectives and portfolio of integrated food processing and packaging solutions. Most recently, he served as general manager for food processing specialist Marel, where he was responsible for the successful growth of the company’s Oceania operations. His vast industry expertise, strategic leadership skills and dedication to service excellence will be instrumental in ensuring that tna continues to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Speaking on his appointment, Jonathan says: “I’m really excited to be back at tna. The company’s growth has been incredible over the last 10 years. So much has changed since I left. The team has doubled in size, our sales have more than quadrupled and our portfolio has grown tenfold since 2003. We now deliver turnkey solutions that span the entire production line, from processing equipment to conveyors, seasoning, weighing, all the way through to bagging and end of line packaging. It’s a huge achievement for a company that started 35 years ago with a single innovation!”
Since 2003, tna has expanded its global customer support network with new offices in Asia, South America, the Middle East, Central and Southern Europe and since 2017, Russia, Japan and China. At the same time, tna continues to widen its product range and industry reach with new acquisitions, such as food processing experts FOODesign and Florigo and, more recently, confectionery specialist NID, who joined the tna group earlier this year.
“One of the main things I’ve always admired about tna is that it keeps pushing the boundaries,” adds Jonathan. ”That certainly hasn’t changed. We’ve got a lot of exciting new developments coming up and I can’t wait to start sharing my knowledge and vision with the rest of the team as we keep expanding into new markets and applications.”
