The president and CEO of Ingredion, Ilene Gordon, will step down on January 1, 2018, and retire from the company that July. 

Ingredion has announced that James Zallie, 56, will  become president and CEO. Zallie is currently the executive vice president of global specialties and president of the Americas. He joined Ingredion in 2010 after it acquired National Starch, at where he was president and CEO.

Gordon, 64, will continue to serve as executive chairman of the board, until July 2018. 

Gordon became president and CEO of Ingredion in 2009, when the company was called Corn Products International.
