Starting in 2018, Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery will add a new content area to its regular coverage that will focus on Sanitation issues central to operations strategies at work in today’s snack and bakery production facilities.
The publication will also launch a new regular column on Workforce Development, contributed by the American Bakers Association (ABA), to address top issues central to the future of the changing personnel needs of snack and bakery operations.
Filling unmet needs
As food-safety concerns continue to play an increasingly vital role in snack and bakery companies’ business strategies, the clear need for regular coverage of Sanitation issues, tailored to meet the distinct needs of snack and bakery production facilities, has arisen.
“Effective and efficient Sanitation is a key part of the success strategy for snack and bakery companies today,” says Chris Luke, sales, market & media leader of BNP Media’s FBP Group and Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery. “This new content platform will fill a hole in today’s snack and bakery business information marketplace and help drive business efficiencies forward.”
The new Sanitation articles will begin with the January 2018 issue of Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery, running in every regular issue of the publication. Core topics of coverage will include:
- Allergen control
- Sanitary facility design
- Sanitary equipment design
- Sanitation software
- Air handling equipment
- Water management systems
- Infrastructure maintenance
- Chemicals & lubricants
This development follows the 2016 expansion the publication’s coverage of Logistics to include articles on new and essential logistics equipment, vehicles, software and technology in every regular issue. These topics complement other core features on: Market Trends (retail and foodservice category insight and analysis), Reports (issues defining the industry), Ingredients (new and essential ingredients), Processing (new and essential equipment) and Packaging (new and essential equipment, technology and materials).
Staffing the future
Starting in January 2018, Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery will also add a new regular column focusing on Workforce Development, a top industry concern.
“In my ongoing conversations with snack and bakery companies across the U.S., few issues rise to a greater place of importance than Workforce Development,” says Douglas J. Peckenpaugh, chief editor, Snack Food & Wholesale Bakery. “We are excited to work with ABA to address top issues related to this issue to help the industry meet the significant industry staffing needs of today and tomorrow.”
