Product Snapshot: In response to millennials’ unique snacking preferences, Lehi Valley Trading Company has launched Snackworthy, a new, budget-friendly line of high-quality, great-tasting and authentic better-for-you snacks for the generation that has become the most powerful consumer bloc.
Lehi Valley Trading Company, a leading Arizona snack food manufacturer whose customers include Fry’s, Whole Foods and Bashas’, conducted extensive research on millennial values, purchasing behaviors and even its snacking inclinations to become one of the first to create this breakthrough line of snack foods to resonate specifically with this generation.
Snackworthy’s wide variety of high-quality snack items includes many of the top snack categories regularly purchased by millennials (Snackworthy Millennial Research) and is also based on Lehi Valley Trading Company’s best sellers. The assortment includes: nuts and seeds, dried fruit, candy, chocolate, popcorn, granola/snacks and trail mix.
Eighty-seven percent of millennials surveyed by the company stated that they look for/expect healthier options when purchasing value snacks. And seventy-eight percent of millennials surveyed agreed/agreed completely that the Snackworthy™ brand concept “gives them a reason to buy the product.”
“We know from our own research, along with industry research, that millennials tend to snack throughout the day,” said Jacque Taylor, Lehi Valley Trading Company’s director of marketing. “And they are seeking better-for-you snacking options at a value price. Snackworthy offers a unique snacking experience to fill that gap in the marketplace.”
Snackworthy products are “worthy” of snacking because the entire line is “Simply Free From 100+ Unworthy ingredients.” The company pledges customers won’t find any of these “unworthy” ingredients in its Snackworthy™ line. (To see the list of 100+ unworthy ingredients, please visit snackworthy.com/nutrition.)
Snackworthy’s brand positioning of “Real. Affordable. Snacks.” delivers on millennial preferences for an authentic value brand that is affordable, trustworthy, savvy, unique and memorable.

Snackworthy’s target segments include many of the multiple segments that Lehi Valley Trading Company already serves such as grocery, specialty retail, convenience, gift, military, club stores, e-commerce and food service.
Realizing its packaging also needs to appeal to millennials, Snackworthy extensively researched its brand labeling design among the target market. Eighty percent of millennials surveyed by the company agreed/agreed completely that Snackworthy’s packaging label design made the product look inviting. Labels feature a kraft background to reinforce a natural/eco-friendly look along with bright, vibrant logo colors to make them pop on shelves or display fixtures. Label options are color-coded by category: Red: Dried Fruit; Orange: Nuggets/Popcorn/Snack Items; Green: Granola/Trail Mix; Blue: Nuts & Seeds; Purple: Sweets.
