Packing a nutritious school lunch just got easier for Midwest Costco members. Angelic Bakehouse, a nationally renowned, artisan sprouted grain bakery, announced its best-selling Sprouted Mash 7-Grain Bread is now available in more than 40 new Costco locations throughout the Midwest. A total of 80 Costco locations now carry the bread throughout Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Angelic’s retail presence across the U.S. is at a steady incline thanks to the “no compromises” attitude of bakery owners Jenny and James Marino, which means delivering the best taste, texture and nutrition in packaged, and sprouted, bread. The Marinos attribute the superior taste and texture of Angelic bread to the development of a proprietary sprouted mash ingredient made from pure, non-GMO whole grains – a method that also results in optimized nutrient density. Angelic has continuously raised the bar in the bread industry, and this school year, the bakery is also setting a new standard for lunchtime.
“Whether you’re trying to appease a picky eater or accommodate for a food allergy, Angelic is the best solution for nutritious lunches that kids will love,” says Jenny Marino, CEO and president of Angelic Bakehouse. “As an added bonus, we’re able to bring Angelic to Midwest families at an incredible value through Costco. Brown bagging just got more affordable and delicious.”
With the significant rise in food allergies in the past two years, followed by food bans in many U.S. schools, brown bagging can seem like a daunting task. Research shows 4 percent of U.S. adults and 8 percent of children have a food allergy, which translates into two students with a food allergy in the average classroom. Angelic Bakehouse offers a tasty resolution to the allergen-friendly lunch as its full line of sprouted mash bread is free from peanuts, tree nuts, soy, dairy and eggs.
The Sprouted Mash 7-Grain Bread, which is also Non-GMO Project Verified and certified kosher and Pas Yisroel by OK Kosher Certification, is sold at Costco in a three-loaf bulk package. Since Angelic bread contains no artificial preservatives, the shelf life is about 10 days, but the bread can easily be stored in the freezer for up to six months -- another benefit of the bakery’s unique mash method.
Throughout this week Costco members will be able to sample Angelic Bakehouse bread before stocking up for the school season. Free samples of the 7-Grain Bread will be offered as part of a special sandwich-themed tasting event at all 80 locations on Aug. 8, 9 and 12.
“Providing the best for my family isn’t a question, and there’s no question that Angelic is the best bread. Real ingredients, delicious, allergen-friendly, you can’t lose when it comes to lunchtime,” says Marino.
