Unlike a screw, the RS drive nut runs on a smooth shaft, which eliminates the potential for food particles and other debris to become trapped in threads that could clog or jam a screw, according to the company. If material falls onto the shaft, it can be easily removed by wiping the shaft with a clean cloth. Customers can specify special sealing procedures for the RS nut. The nut also can be fitted with shaft scrapers that continually wipe the shaft clean as the nut moves back and forth, and with grease fittings that can be pre-packed with customer-specified, food-grade grease. Available in 10 sizes to meet varying payload and thrust requirements, the RS drive nut is suitable for vertical or horizontal travel.
