Foran Spice Co., Oak Creek, WI, has changed its name to Asenzya Inc. in an effort to strategically reposition itself to better meet the needs of its customers and communicate its many capabilities.
The family-owned company has had a presence in the Milwaukee area for more than 60 years. Its capabilities extend beyond spices, including customized seasoning blends, flavor solutions, finished product innovation and functional ingredient solutions.
The name change also will allow Asenzya to continue building its capabilities and expand its efforts within the food-manufacturing realm. Recently, the company invested in building a world-class culinary, research and development, and operations infrastructure. It also hired a corporate executive chef, who will focus on understanding culinary flavor trends and how they can be leveraged to expand each customer’s business. Asenzya also employs a team of food scientists and technologists who work with customers.
“With our new name and identity, we are better positioned and defined within the marketplace, which will help communicate our expanded capabilities to our customers and prospects,” says Patty Goto, president and CEO of Asenzya. “We will continue to sell spices, but our central focus will be on translating our customers’ needs and visions into workable solutions, including optimized seasoning blends, functional ingredients and cutting-edge concepting for their products.”
