Dr. Ben Carson will be the guest speaker at the Allied Trades of the Baking Industry Leadership Breakfast, held on March 30 during the 2015 ABA Convention. The convention, which will focus on “The Power of Baking,” will take place March 29 to April 1 at the Ritz Grande Lakes Orlando in Orlando, FL.
Carson is an emeritus professor of neurosurgery, oncology, plastic surgery, and pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he directed pediatric neurosurgery at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center for 39 years. He holds more than 60 honorary doctorate degrees and has received hundreds of awards and citations.
During his presentation, Carson will take an inspirational look at the philosophy that helped him meet and overcome life's obstacles. He will also illustrate the importance of risk taking in a position of leadership, drawing upon his experience as the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at an internationally renowned medical center, where he faced many challenging and risky cases every week.
“We are honored to have Dr. Carson join us for this important dialogue,” says Robb MacKie, ABA president and CEO. “His work, both in the medical field and with the Carson Scholars Fund, is an example to us all of the power of leadership. I believe our attendees will find his story truly inspiring.”
