Fisher Nuts, Elgin, IL, recently announced the second annual “My Fresh Twist” recipe contest. Consumers are invited to submit an original recipe using walnuts, almonds or pecans to www.myfreshtwist.com through Oct. 21 for a chance to win a grand prize that includes a trip for two to New York City to meet chef Alex Guarnaschelli.

“Putting a fresh twist on a traditional dish or recreating a recipe with new flavors for the season is a great way to add a little variety to your recipe repertoire,” says Guarnaschelli. “The Fisher Nuts ‘My Fresh Twist’ recipe contest is the perfect opportunity to showcase your own signature dish or your twist on a tried-and-true family recipe.”

Each submission will be featured on www.myfreshtwist.com, where Fisher fans and their friends and families will be able to vote to select the top 15 finalists. Voting will take place Oct. 22 through Nov. 4. Guarnaschelli and a panel of judges will choose the grand prize winner from the top 15 finalists. The recipes will be judged on their originality, integration of nuts, taste and visual appeal.

The grand prize winner will be announced on Nov. 21 and receive a trip for two to New York City, a meet-and-greet with Guarnaschelli and a $500 cash prize. The winning recipe will also be professionally photographed and featured on the Fisher Nuts website, Pinterest page and in news publications nationwide.

Fourteen runners up will receive a $100 gift card and a signed copy of Old School Comfort Food: The Way I Learned to Cook by Guarnaschelli. In addition to the grand prize winner and runners-up, Fisher Nuts will select 10 weekly winners from Sept. 9 through Oct. 21 to receive a copy of Old School Comfort Food: The Way I Learned to Cook and a suite of Fisher Nuts products.
