Pepperidge Farm, Norwalk, Conn., names Irene Chang Britt president, succeeding Pat Callaghan, who steps down after more than 30 years with the company. Britt reports to Denise Morrison, president and CEO of parent Campbell Soup Co., Camden, N.J.
Britt is the first woman to lead Pepperidge Farm since company founder Margaret Rudkin managed the business from 1937 to 1966. Campbell acquired Pepperidge Farm in 1961. Pepperidge Farm's global sales approach $2.3 billion annually, ranking Campbell Soup No. 3 in the world's baked snacks category, the company says.
Before joining Campbell in 2005, Britt spent eight years with Kraft Foods, including posts as senior vice president and general manager of the salted snacks and Post cereal divisions.
