The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), Washington, announces that Glenn Black, director of science operations, food protection, will chair its newly formed Food Safety Preventive Controls (FSPC) Alliance Steering and Executive Committee.
“GMA has always been a leader in food safety education and training and our involvement in this area continues to grow as the food industry evolves into a manufacturing base with more local and international production facilities and global ingredient sourcing,” says Bruner. “We’re honored to be chairing the Alliance and hope that our extensive experience in food safety will help the Alliance in its mission to train and educate a broad array of stakeholders on compliance with the new FSMA preventive controls requirements.”
Bruner goes on to say that, “Glenn’s extensive experience in food safety science along with his considerable expertise in food safety training and education make him an excellent choice to lead the Alliance,” he says. “We’re confident that the education and training materials that are developed by the Alliance will help industry--particularly small- and medium-size companies--comply with the new preventive control rules.”
The GMA is a voice for more than 300 leading food, beverage and consumer product companies that sustain and enhance the quality of life for hundreds of millions of people in the United States and around the globe.
