Dave Krishock received the 2009 Commerce Bank Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award from Kansas State University.
A graduate of the American Institute of Baking, Krishock is the baking science and management instructor for the Baker’s National Education Foundation (BNEF) and came to KSU’s Department of Grain Science in 2005. He has many years in the industry working for such companies as Zimmerman’s and King Arthur Flour and also has owned his own bakery, along with his wife, Wendy.
He currently teaches Baking Science I & II lectures and labs along with the bakery layout class, assists as a student advisor for the baking program and is the advisor for the student’s Bakery Science Club, where they can earn money in weekly bake sales to travel to the American Society of Baking conference every March in Chicago.
“The BNEF is very proud of Dave and his accomplishments the past four years,” says Ron Zelch, BNEP president. “It is a tremendous honor for Dave to be recognized by the Kansas State University for his teaching skills. Dave’s enthusiasm for the baking industry shows up in the success of his students and in the increased enrollment baking science program.”
