According to iba 2009 organizers, the halls are full at the Messe in Düsseldorf, Germany, for the World of Baking show, which runs from October 3-9.

As of mid-June, more than 990 exhibitors have signed up for the show. Of those, 56% are international, or outside of Germany, which is a percentage that is identical to 2006 when the show was held in Munich. Some countries such as Finland, Japan, Canada, Portugal and the Czech Republic will have even more exhibitors than they did three years ago.

"iba 2009 is sending a strong signal,” says Dieter Dohr, managing director of GHM Gesellschaftfür Handwerksmessen GmbH. “The industry has recognized the uniqueness of iba [show] and is therefore using the 2009 event to celebrate many product premieres. This increased level of interest shows clearly that a steady, three-year cycle that participants can count on is the right solution and the only solution. The number of registrations received so far shows the global status of iba. Because of its unique product spectrum it is and continues to be the uncontested No. 1 [exhibition]. This is where the industry draws its roadmap for a dynamic future. Everyone benefits from a visit to iba as a place to identify new opportunities in the market."

According to show organizers, new, greener generation of ovens, systems and machinery will be on display at iba 2009. Energy-saving products help reduce costs significantly in baking, refrigeration, freezing and fermenting operations, the organizers say.
