Kevin Silva, president and ceo of The Warrell Corp., is resigning after two years at the helm and 26 years at the Camp Hill, Pa.-bKevin Silvaased company. 
 
Warrell has retained North Group Consultants of Lititz, Pa. to conduct a national search for Silva’s successor. Silva made the decision to resign, the company said in the news release, but it did not disclose the reason for his departure. Silva will remain in the executive role until a replacement is hired.
 
“Over the past two and a half years, our employees have made significant facilities upgrades and operational improvements while building a continuous improvement culture in the manufacturing plant,” Silva said in a statement. “We have a very solid base to build from; I believe the organization is ready for a new leader to take us to the next level.”
 
Kevin Freeman, non-executive chairman of the board, noted the Warrell family remains committed to the company.
 
“The changes taking place in the food industry include increasing consumer demand for better-for-you snacking; the need for major branded marketers to accelerate innovation by partnering with external development and manufacturing resources; and commitment of leading retailers to market their own premium private-label brands,” he said. “All of these represent exciting growth opportunities for The Warrell Corp.”
 
Laura King_Candy Dynamics
In other news, Laura King, v.p. of sales and marketing for Candy Dynamics, has been named president of the Carmel, Ind.-based company. She succeeds Richard Deer, who will remain the company’s ceo.  
 
King has been with Candy Dynamics for 17 years, serving in several leadership positions. During her time as v.p. of sales and marketing, the company has tripled in size. King has also had a key role in the introduction of Slime Lickers, Sour Smog Balls and the extension of the Toxic Waste Candy brand into the international arena.  
 
King began her career at Hormel Foods. She will assume her new responsibilities in 2018.
