Blue Diamond Growers are hoping a more specific name and a new website for their ingredients division will help customers get a better idea of what they have to offer.
In a move to better reflect its global reach, the ingredients business division will now be called “Blue Diamond Almonds Global Ingredients.” It was previously known as Industrial Products.
The new positioning reaffirms the division’s sustained double-digit yearly growth as the dominant global almond supplier, with revenues expected to hit $1 billion this year.
Meanwhile, the new website for the ingredient division, www.bdingredients.com, will play a critical role in communicating the enhanced global profile.
The site offers unique resources for food scientists and R&D professionals, including an Almond Center, which includes a matrix selection tool matching different forms of almonds to specific end-use applications. The Almond Center is organized by categories: confections, cereal, health and energy bars, bakery, snacks, ice cream, and other products.
“Transitioning to Blue Diamond Almonds Global Ingredients Division reflects the exciting forward momentum of our business,” says Bill Morecraft, the division’s general manager. “We serve global brands with a wide range of best-in-class capabilities — production, QA and food safety, global supply and logistics, product development and much more.”
Morecraft also pointed out that the division is benefiting from significant investments from its parent, Blue Diamond Growers, through a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Turlock, Calif. and an R&D Innovation Center already under construction in Sacramento. Both are expected to be operational in 2013.
“Our customers are very demanding,” he adds. “Blue Diamond Almonds Global Ingredients Division is uniquely able to provide them with an uninterrupted supply of the very best almond ingredients anywhere in any form. Our new manufacturing and R&D facilities demonstrate our deep commitment to innovation and continual progress.”
