Retail Confectioners International (RCI) will host an event in Vancouver, B.C., September 21-23.
Retail chocolate and candy makers, as well as their suppliers, will meet for an opportunity to connect with and learn alongside fellow confectioners.
The event will feature networking opportunities, education sessions, and behind-the-scenes tours of local candy shops and manufacturing facilities.
Vancouver is known as a modern city on the edge of a spectacular natural playground, and it promises to offer fresh ideas and inspiration for attendees to take home.
The events will begin with a lineup of education sessions geared toward expanding attendees' confectionery and business knowledge. The president of Purdys Chocolatier, named one of Canada's 10 Most Admired Corporate Cultures, will give a presentation on creating and maintaining a successful corporate culture. A workshop on effective communication will follow as well as member-led presentations on how to incorporate automation into manufacturing processes and how to create amazing guest experiences.
Tours beginning on Wednesday, September 21 will include one of the only manufacturers of authentic Turkish Delight in North America, Bayco Confectionery. Attendees will also visit The C Shop, Charlie's Chocolate Factory, Chewters Chocolates, and Purdys Chocolatier.
"At RCI we enjoy creating event experiences that encourage the idea-sharing and generosity that is already descriptive of the confectionery industry," says Angie Burlison, RCI's executive director. "Vancouver will not only be a great place for confectioners to connect with their peers and suppliers, but also gather ideas to implement in their own businesses."
Registration for the event can be found online.
