Join us April 21-25 for a unique tour aboard a private, chartered bus as we explore confectionery treasures in this area. Attendees will stay in Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Ocean City, Md. throughout the week. Not only will attendees tour retail shops and taste the unique sweets of the region, but they will also have the opportunity to take in some of the historic sites along the way, including the Capitol and the Naval Academy.
RCI is known for our behind-the-scenes tours and education courses. Attendees will begin in Baltimore, Maryland’s largest city and home to the second largest seaport in the region. Members will experience the rich confectionery history of the area, visiting confectioners who have been making candy for generations, such as Louis J. Rheb Candy Co.,Wockenfuss Candies and Bomboy’s Candy.
In Washington, D.C., attendees will tour The Capital Candy Jar, Union Kitchen, SPAGnVOLA Chocolatier (a bean-to-bar chocolate company), as well as a guided tour of the Capitol. The evening will be spent in Annapolis, Md., a beautiful city situated on the Chesapeake Bay, with an opportunity to tour the Naval Academy.
The last stop on the tour is Ocean City, Md. Home of our tour hosts— the Dolle Family — Ocean City is the only beach resort in the state. It is a unique town that offers a wide array of activities, including the beautiful boardwalk by the sea. Attendees will visit Dolle’s Candyland and Dumsers Dairyland while on the boardwalk.
The Mid-Atlantic Chocolate Tour is sure to offer attendees an opportunity to relax and enjoy the journey through the beautiful region while connecting with other candy makers. Full registration includes hotel guest rooms. For more information, visit retailconfectioners.org/events.
