Key Technology, a member of the Duravant family of operating companies, has announced the appointment of Jeff Nielsen as area sales manager for the Southeast and South Central United States. Nielsen is responsible for bringing Key’s high performance digital sorting, conveying and automation systems to customers that process fruits, vegetables, potatoes, nuts, snack foods, poultry and more.
“Jeff is supporting our growing customer base in the Southeast and South Central U.S. With the field-proven success of our VERYX digital sorters and our versatile vibratory conveyors like Iso-Flo®, he has a terrific opportunity to deliver value to the large number of food processors in this region,” said Ray Kramer, senior director of North American Sales at Key. “With his strong professional background that includes 10 years selling digital sorters, Jeff is a tremendous resource for our customers.
Nielsen brings 17 years of experience in food processing equipment sales. Most recently, he was the Southeast sales manager with Industrial Ventilation, Inc. Previously, he was the Southeast regional sales manager with Tomra Sorting Solutions. Nielsen holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from the University of Wisconsin.
“Key is a respected market leader known for their world-class sorters and conveyors – a powerful combination. Unlike other suppliers, they provide turnkey sorting systems with integrated conveyors that are custom designed for each application. A great infeed conveyor successfully prepares the product for inspection to achieve the best sort accuracy,” said Nielsen. “I’m excited to bring Key’s innovative, high quality solutions to food processors.
Based near Atlanta, Georgia, Nielsen takes responsibility for the area that was handled by Bob Freeman, who is retiring from Key after 19 years.
