Melissa Trimmer has been named the new senior application chef at Dawn Foods. She will work hand-in-hand with Dawn team members and customers at the company’s Innovation Studio in Jackson, Mich., to drive creative new offerings informed by the latest trends and consumer insights, including new premium product platforms for cakes and donuts.
As the new senior application chef, Chef Trimmer will also be working on creating innovative recipes and photography for Dawn. Additionally, she will play a large role in Dawn’s Sweetest Bakery in America contest each year when the winner is welcomed to the Innovation Studio.
Chef Trimmer comes to Dawn with more than 20 years of critically acclaimed work in top hotels, leading restaurants, food distributors, a renowned culinary school, and consulting work for national and international accounts. She specializes in preparing menus that attract and retain customers, utilizing both classical and modern techniques. Most recently, Chef Trimmer served as the Corporate Chef for ARYZTA where she used her culinary experience to continually experiment with new recipes and bring a creative and fresh approach to customers. Prior to this role, she served as the corporate chef at US Foods. Both positions were based in Chicago.
Chef Trimmer graduated from Johnson & Wales University with an Associate degree in Baking and is a Certified Executive Pastry Chef from the American Culinary.
