Key Technology, a member of the Duravant family of operating companies, has announced the promotion of Alvaro Nunez as area sales manager for Central and Northern California. Nunez is responsible for bringing Key’s high performance digital sorters, vibratory conveying solutions and other automation systems to food processors and other manufacturers.
Nunez is based out of Key’s Innovation and Solutions Center (ISC) in Sacramento, California – one of the company’s four customer visitor centers around the world.
“With its high concentration of nut, fruit and vegetable processors, this important territory is perfectly aligned with Key’s products and value proposition. These businesses want technologies that improve food safety, increase yields and reduce operating costs. Our world-class VERYX digital sorters and Iso-Flo vibratory conveyors do all this and more, so we’re a great fit,” said Ray Kramer, senior director North American Sales. “We’re thrilled to have Alvaro take over this vital territory. His technical knowledge and application expertise, together with his extensive background partnering with our customers, make him a very valuable resource for processors.
Nunez has been with Key for 18 years. Prior to this promotion, he was regional manager for Mexico, based at the company’s sales and service office in Santiago de Queretaro, Mexico. Previously, he worked at the company’s Walla Walla, Washington headquarters, most recently as an applications engineer working directly with food processors. Before that, he held engineering positions with Key’s Research & Development team and its Service department. Nunez holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Guadalajara Mexico.
“Central and Northern California is a diverse and dynamic market. I’m excited to be out in the field meeting food processors at their facilities and inviting them to see our equipment in action at our Sacramento visitor center. Ultimately, I’m building relationships to help customers identify the ideal solutions that best meet their specific needs,” said Nunez. “Key is a respected market leader, known for innovative technologies, quality engineering and unparalleled customer support. Given the strength of our team and dedication to our customers, I’ve got a tremendous opportunity to help many processors improve their operations.
The primary territory includes Central and Northern California. Additionally, Nunez is responsible for all walnut processors and all Frito-Lay plants throughout California. Excluded are wine, tomato, tobacco, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industry customers, which are handled by industry-specific sales teams.
