Packers Sanitation Services Inc. (PSSI) has announced the appointment of Jim Whitehead to vice president of sales and marketing. Whitehead will oversee all Business Development for PSSI, including regional sales and FDA-focused sales initiatives, as well as Marketing and Brand Development.
Previously Whitehead lead the USDA Corporate Account Team for PSSI, which he will continue leading until a new successor is named.
“Jim is an outstanding leader with a sharp forward-thinking vision,” said Dan Taft, president and CEO of PSSI. “He’s played a key role in the growth of our business and customer relationships over the last six years and I’m confident in his ability to continue building on that in this new role.”
Whitehead has spent his entire 30-year career in the food safety and sanitation industry. With a Chemistry degree from Indiana University, he started working in the sanitation chemical business primarily with Chemidyne and Ecolab, where he was a high performer in direct sales and service roles. He then helped grow the contract sanitation business as Executive Vice President for Superior Contract Cleaners, where he built a team that was consistently recognized for high quality service, performance, and customer relationships. PSSI acquired Whitehead and the Superior Contract Cleaners team in 2012.
“PSSI is a fantastic company and I am grateful for this opportunity,” said Whitehead. “We have an exceptional sales and marketing team who I am excited to work with.”
As part of his continuing education and leadership training, Whitehead recently graduated from the University of PSSI that is a program designed to develop high potential future leaders within PSSI and PCI strengthen our leadership pipeline.
