Last week, Ingredion published its seventh annual Sustainability Update. The report highlights significant progress against its 2020 goals that its new corporate communication director, Becca Hary, has released.

A few call-outs from the report:

  • Sustainably sourced 1.34 metric tons of crops in 2017
  • Established goals to reduce water use intensity and carbon emission intensity by 10 percent by the end of 2020
  • Sixty percent of all Ingredion’s manufacturing sites were ISO 14001 certified for environmental management

Ingredion’s president and CEO Jim Zallie authored a letter on page 4 where he states, “It is important that our efforts not only bring value to Ingredion, but also to the communities in which we operate.”
