Gold Standard Baking Inc., based in Chicago, has announced plans to open a new facility in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The jobs created from the new facility may eventually lead to 300 jobs in Pleasant Prairie.
The company plans to lease a 204,400-square-foot building, spread over 12 acres, which is located in LakeView Corporate Park.
During its first year at the facility, the company will have approximately 90 employees; when the facility becomes fully staffed, it will staff about 300 employees.
The company plans to operate the bakery 24/7, and after equipment is added, Gold Standard Baking hopes to begin operations.
In 2015, the company announced that it would expand its Chicago bakery, after receiving an investment by Parallel49 Equity, a private equity firm.
Gold Standard Baking bakes thaw-and-serve products for supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants, such as croissants and danishes, among other products.
