Carolina Ingredients, Inc.,(CII) announced that it has achieved Organic Certification by International Certification Services, (ICS-Intl), who are USDA Certified Organic Auditors assuring their customers that specific ingredients/blends are organically produced.
“Achieving Organic Certification allows Carolina Ingredients the ability to expand our naturally-sourced ingredients and resulting commercial seasoning blends to meet the increasing demand by our existing and future customers. This is an accomplishment for the entire organization of which all employees can be proud to have achieved”, said Frank McKinney, Chief Operating Officer. According to Innova Market Insights, one in every ten of new packaged food and beverages made some organic claim last year. Additionally, growing claims on organic products represented 7.4% of all global product launches.
The Organic Certification continues to align Carolina Ingredients with the customer’s needs in the evolution of food manufacturing. Present Certifications include Safe Quality Food, HACCP and Kosher, and Halal. Now with Organic Certification, in addition to developing organic seasoning blends, they can also solidify their Non-GMO and Organic stance to support customers at a depth they will need in the near future. USDA Organic Certification requires use of Non-GMO Ingredients:
Organic farms and processors:
- Preserve natural resources and biodiversity
- Support animal health and welfare
- Provide access to the outdoors so animals can exercise their natural behaviors
- Only use approved materials
- Do not use genetically modified ingredients
- Receive annual onsite inspections
- Separate organic food from non-organic food
The advantages to both CII and their customers continue to grow and enable both to meet and/or exceed the market needs and demand.
