PMMI, The Association of Packaging and Processing Technologies, Reston, Va., will help manufacturers from around the world discover solutions from North America’s top innovators at interpack, held May 8-14 at Messe Dusseldorf in Dusseldorf, Germany. One-hundred and eighty-five PMMI member companies will exhibit at the show, offering technologies to advance line speed, efficiency and food-safety initiatives as well as enhance shelf appeal. Additionally, PMMI’s booth (Hall 12/F01) will have resources and experts on-hand to offer insights on the latest trends and technologies driving North America’s growing manufacturing sector.
“Advanced technologies are helping to drive this growth in North American manufacturing, creating opportunities for both international suppliers and manufacturers,” says Charles D. Yuska, president and CEO of PMMI. “As globalization creates a smaller world, with highly complex supply chains and regulatory environments, this idea-sharing helps ensure a healthy manufacturing industry worldwide.”
It all starts with facilitating faster connections between consumer product manufacturers and suppliers. On May 8, PMMI will launch an online platform to help attendees quickly identify and engage with member companies showcasing game-changing innovations at the event. The platform can be used throughout the show to quickly and efficiently navigate professionals to solutions and suppliers, including the following:
• The new Omni-Directional Sorter from Intralox (Hall 13/E77), which features a compact design for high-speed, zone-picking applications, receiving and sorting products from any direction at speeds of more than 3,600 cases or totes per hour.
• AKHM servomotors from Kollmorgen (Hall 8a/C08), which address pending provisions of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) in the U.S. with a hygienic housing design that can withstand the daily exposure to chemicals and high-pressure washdowns.
• Herrmann Ultrasonics (Hall 11/F55) will display new ultrasonic technology for the assembly of plastic slider opening mechanisms for resealable cans.
The above solutions will also be on display at PACK EXPO International 2014, held Nov. 2-5 at McCormick Place in Chicago.
