More than 2,700 exhibitors from 59 countries and approximately 166,000 trade visitors from around the world are expected to attend interpack 2014 PROCESSES AND PACKAGING, to be held May 8-14 at the Düsseldorf Fairgrounds in Germany.
The international event will again present the entire value chain, with exhibit categories including processes and machinery for the packaging of food/beverage, confectionery/bakery, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, consumer goods (nonfood) and industrial goods as well as packaging materials and production and related services. Exhibitors will showcase their latest products and technologies in more than 2 million square feet of gross exhibit space.
Several special events will also be held in conjunction with interpack 2014. On May 7-8, the Save Food conference will convene in Congress Center South. The initiative works to encourage dialogue on food losses between industry, research, politics and civil society.
Innovationparc Packaging, a trade name of interpack and the show’s forum for special themes of the future, will be held with Save Food and located in a tent between Halls 2 and 3.
A new event—“components for processing and packaging”—will take place the first three days of interpack (May 8-10) in Congress Center South. The trade fair is geared toward suppliers to the packaging industry, specifically companies specializing in motor, drive, control and sensor technology; products for machinery image data processing as well as handling technology; industrial software; and communication and complete automation systems for packaging machinery. It is also directed at manufacturers of machinery parts, components, accessories, peripheral equipment and components and auxiliaries for packaging material.
“With ‘components for processing and packaging,’ we are broading the range of offers at interpack by including the supplier side,” explains interpack director Bernd Jablonowski. “Although supplier companies cannot exhibit at interpack itself due to the trade fair’s nomenclature, they can now benefit from the unique exhibitor diversity of interpack as the leading international trade fair. Conversely, exhibitors at interpack only need to take a short walk to get information about their suppliers’ products and services.”
Organized by Messe Düsseldorf North America, the U.S. Pavilion will offer U.S. companies a cost-effective way to enter into or expand their business in the overseas marketplace.
Metal Packaging Plaza, a meeting point for the international metal packaging sector and its suppliers, will be staged in Hall 11. In addition to serving as a showcase for exhibitors, the venue will also serve as an information platform comprising a forum and meeting points.
Exhibitors and visitors at interpack 2014 and “components for processing and packaging” 2014 can visit both events with one entrance pass, which can be purchased online at www.interpack.com a reduced rate starting in mid-December. Passes include free use of all public transporation within Düsseldorf’s Rhine-Ruhr regional network (VRR) on all days of interpack 2014.
