The 39th annual Independent Bakers Association (IBA) Convention in Washington, June 18-19, aims to provide members with valuable expertise as U.S. Representative Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) kicks off the program. Goodlatte is leading the march on Capitol Hill for sugar reform and will share details about the IBA’s efforts as well as the Farm Bill. IBA will also honor Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) and Senator Mark Warner (D-Va.) with the Horst G. Denk Award for legislative service, and is arranging meet-and-greets for attendees with senators and representatives on Capitol Hill.

In addition, the meeting will include a business preparedness speaker offering important advice regarding natural and expected disasters. Mark Tanner of the Cato Institute, a public policy research organization in Washington, will present information about the upcoming impacts of the Affordable Care Act on businesses. In conjunction with this, a talented economist will share how changes in taxes from Congress will change your businesses' bottom line.
