Ruiz Foods, Dinuba, Calif. — F. Bryce Ruiz has been appointed president and chief operating officer. His appointment is part of the Ruiz family’s long-term succession plan, and his responsibilities include overseeing sales and marketing. F. Bryce Ruiz is from the third generation of the Ruiz family. His father, chairman and CEO, Fred Ruiz, and grandfather, Louis Ruiz, chairman emeritus, founded Ruiz Foods in 1964.
Turkington APV USA, Goldsboro, N.C. — Jeff Hadley has been named vice president of engineering. Hadley brings more than 25 years of technical and operational management experience in domestic and international capital equipment markets. In addition, Ben Keller has been named vice president of operations. He has more than 30 years of experience in capital equipment industrial manufacturing operations.
The Bachman Co., Reading, Pa. — Steve Gabel has been promoted to director of sales and branch operations. Gabel has been representing Bachman Snacks since 2002, most recently serving as director of sales. The Bachman Co. is best known for its hearth-baked pretzels, its Jax Cheese Curls and Chipitos Tortilla Chips.

Interstate Bakeries Corp., Kansas City, Mo. — David Leavitt, a consumer packaged goods sales and marketing industry veteran, has been named vice president — snack marketing. Leavitt brings more than 17 years of experience to the table. He most recently served as director of marketing at Del Monte Foods/StarKist Brands.

Fritsch, Markt Einersheim, Germany — Martina Stocker has joined the sales operations team and will work with owner and general manager Klaus Fritsch to expand the company’s position in the market. Since March 2006, Fritsch’s industrial sales business has been strengthened by the addition of Johannes Rustler, an engineer. Rustler will provide technical and project-related support from his office in Lohr for the area sales manager.

Shearer’s Foods, Brewster, Ohio – Scott W. Smith has been promoted to president. Smith joined Shearer’s in 2002 as CFO and was promoted to COO in 2004. He will lead all day-to-day operations.
