Sanders and Morley Candy Makers, Inc., has acquired about five acres of property adjacent to its corporate headquarters in Clinton Township, Mich., with the eventual goal of expanding.
“Metro Detroit is our home so we are committed to investing in the area and providing more job opportunities,” said Ron Rapson, president of Sanders and Morley Candy Makers. “With this land being so close to our existing property, we decided the best strategic decision was to make the purchase.”
The property provides Sanders with the opportunity to expand as it continues to experience growth, though the company is still weighing how to use it.
“This land can be used in a variety of ways to benefit our operations,” Rapson said. “Our team is working to make careful considerations on how to best use it, taking into account both the current and future needs of our growing business.”
The property purchase comes after Sanders invested several million dollars into its manufacturing and operations over the last three years. In October, the company remodeled its flagship Chocolate & Ice Cream Shoppe inside its corporate headquarters. Sanders has also added three new production lines, gained a 50,000-sq. ft. distribution center, employed a new cloud-based ERP system and launched a new website using the latest Magento 2 Platform technology.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of this iconic brand as we embark on our next 142 years,” Rapson said. “We look forward to taking on even more opportunities and further growing our team in the future.”
