Alter Eco will debut the Grass Fed Milk Chocolate Collection at the 2020 Winter Fancy Food Show, set for Jan. 18-21 in San Francisco.
Available in three flavors – Grass Fed Milk, Grass Fed Milk With Salted Almonds and Grass Fed Milk With Rice Crunch – the bars deliver an indulgent, creamy texture with 46 percent Peruvian cocoa sourced from Fair Trade farms that practice restorative farming methods.
Alter Eco uses the highest-quality milk from grass-fed cows pastured in the Alpine valleys of Switzerland. With approximately 35 cows per farm, they graze outdoors for 234 days per year (twice as long as USDA standards), with year-round access to the outdoors and their food grown on the land for a low-input approach to dairy farming.
Alter Eco’s commitment to clean ingredients extends from the farm to the final recipe with no corn feed, no GMOs and no refined sugars, soy ingredients or preservatives. Alter Eco’s Grass Fed Milk Chocolate bars are also USDA certified organic, Fair Trade certified, certified gluten free and carbon neutral certified, and packaged in FSC certified paper that is responsibly sourced to protect forests.
“We’ve always wanted to launch a line for milk chocolate lovers, but knew that it had to go beyond the industry standards for sustainability and taste, just like the other items in our portfolio,” said Alter Eco CEO Mike Forbes. “Though known for our dark chocolate bars and addictive truffles, we’re thrilled to expand our portfolio with an innovative new take on milk chocolate, which aligns with our values around stringent care for ingredient sourcing and restorative agriculture.”
Available in April, Alter Eco’s new Grass Fed Milk Chocolate Collection will retail for $3.99 per 2.65-oz. bar. Alter Eco products are available nationwide at major natural food retailers and grocery stores, including Whole Foods Market, Wegman’s, Sprouts, Kroger and Publix.
