Lindt & Sprungli AG has experienced above average growth in 2010, which has resulted in substantial market share gains in practically all countries and segments.
Specifically, the Switzerland-based chocolate manufacturer, which also oversees the Ghirardellibrand, has had organic growth of 7.3% in local currency terms, the company reported. Also, all subsidiary companies, except for Australia, achieved faster growth than the market average.
The company also has realigned its management structure, expanding responsibilities for four executives under its newly-created “Extended Group Management.”
As of May 1, the executives will take on strategic responsibilities, which will broaden the management expertise available within the group of companies, and pave the way for geographical expansion.
The Extended Group Management team includes: Rolf Fallegger, who since 2009 has held country responsibility for France, the UK, Russia and Poland; Kamillo Kitzmantel, who since 1995 has been ceo of Lindt’s Swiss subsidiary company; Adalbert Lechner, who since 2001 has had country responsibility for Austria; and Andreas Pfluger, who since 2005 has been ceo of the Ghirardelli Chocolate and responsible for Lindt North America operations.
With the creation of the newly created Extended Group Management structure, Kitzmantel also will be responsible for building up the planned Competence Center for Chocolate while Pfluger will oversee Italy and Australia as well as have oversight of Lindt’s representative in Hong Kong.
Lindt USA also has announced a new direct sales program, Lindt Chocolate R.S.V.P. The program will allow consultants to host in-home chocolate tasting parties, such as wine and chocolate pairings, dessert creation or chocolate fondue.
In addition to classic Lindt products, such as their Excellence bars or Lindor Truffles, other products also will be available solely for the parties. Consultants, who can earn commission, are provided with expert coaching, a personal website and other tools. The program also features host rewards.
