Amy Atkinson Voltz

Basil E. Atkinson

Judson-Atkinson Candies, Inc. has made several management structure changes in response to former president Basil E. Atkinson stepping down, including naming his daughter Amy Atkinson Voltz president.

Atkinson, who purchased the San Antonio-based Judson Candy Co. in 1983 and renamed it Judson-Atkinson Candies, will still serve as an adviser to both Judson-Atkinson Candies, Inc. and sister company Atkinson Candy Co.

"Dr. Atkinson is still very active in the company's day-to-day operations,” Atkinson Voltz says. “We're not going to change our way of doing business; these are strictly management changes that will enable Judson-Atkinson Candies to grow stronger as a company."

Since joining the company in 1984, Atkinson Voltz has worked in commodities and purchasing, as well as on the freight side of the business. She will oversee production, handle commodities and become more involved in product development in her new role.

Rinda Miller

Atkinson’s other daughter, Rinda Miller, a 15-year veteran of the company, has been promoted to executive vice president in charge of the company's safety and human resources departments.

Melissa Hudson

In addition to those changes, Melissa Hudson has been named vice president. Most recently, Hudson, who has been with the company for 18 years, was responsible for purchasing. She will continue to manage packaging design development in her new role.
