Abdallah Candies has been named an honoree of Finance & Commerce's 2016 Progress Minnesota awards. Finance & Commerce is Minnesota’s only independent daily newspaper dedicated to business reporting.
Abdallah Candies is one of 29 individuals, companies, organizations, and institutions recognized for moving Minnesota's economy forward in innovative ways.
Now in its fifth year, the Progress Minnesota 2016 awards program was created to encourage, promote and honor entrepreneurs and organizations from across the state who, by their investment of time, energy and ideas, are having a significant impact on job creation, business development, and the overall economic health of the Twin Cities and the entire state.
It will be presented on April 7 at the Hyatt Minneapolis.
Abdallah Candies was founded in 1909 by Albert Abdallah, a young immigrant from Lebanon. The fourth-generation family-owned company handcrafts premium chocolates and confections. It was chosen for the Progress Minnesota award in part for deciding to build a second production and retail facility in Apple Valley, Minn.
