You’ll likely start to notice a lot more salty caramel treats next year, at least according to Bell Flavors and Fragrances.
The company announced it’s annual Top 10 Flavor and Fragrances for the coming year and the flavor topped the list for sweet flavors.
It was followed by red velvet, strawberry jasmine, cinnamon chipotle, and eucalyptus in the top five. While, tara/sweet potato, roasted coconut, cafe de olla, lucuma and white sesame rounded out the rest of the list.
Bell says the top flavors were selected through three different processes of analysis: tracking samples that have been requested over a 12-month period, trend scouting by its internal marketing and research and development departments worldwide, and tracking trends through external databases.
The overall theme for it’s predictions was “Emerging Cultures.”
“With consumers having more interest in cuisines throughout the world, these menu items are becoming more mainstream,” the company says. “Korean cuisines are predicted to make a huge hit to the market with Cajun and Greek following close behind.”
Bell also released the Top 10 savory and beverage flavors; the top savory flavor was white truffle oil, while the top beverage flavor was lemonade.
