Sugarfina is going global.

Partnering with Upper East Holdings, specialty confectionery retailer Sugarfina will expand into Asia with the opening a 900-sq.-ft. boutique at Harbor City Mall in the Tsim Sha Tsui district of Hong Kong. Similar to other Sugarfina establishments in the U.S., it will maintain the brand’s signature aqua and white color scheme.

In honor of the new location, the store will offer several Asia-exclusive items, such as Lunar New Year gifts and exclusive two-piece candy bento boxes inspired by the Hong Kong tram.

Harbor City marks the first step in Sugarfina’s broader expansion initiative, with future Hong Kong locations planned with the assistance of Upper East Holdings, a franchise operating company that brought cake company Lady M into Hong Kong in 2015.

“We’ve been dreaming of expanding Sugarfina globally since the early days of the brand,” said Rosie O’Neill and Josh Resnick, co-founders and ceos of Sugarfina. “Hong Kong is the window into Asia, and Upper East Holdings is the ideal partner to establish our brand in the region. We’re excited to partner with them to bring Sugarfina to life in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.”

“We were mesmerized by Sugarfina’s sophisticated concept and innovative candy flavors. It’s exciting to introduce a fresh concept to the sweet tooths of Hong Kong,” added Tammy Wu and Stephen Yeung, directors of Upper East Holdings. “We have always been passionate about finding the perfect luxury confections experience to bring over from the United States, and we look forward to working with the creative minds of Sugarfina.”

Sugarfina is best known for its champagne and rosé-infused gummy bears and other adult-skewed candy products. Opening its first location in 2013, it now boasts 50 locations across the U.S.
