Hunger can make people do all kinds of silly things.
According to Snickers, it can also make you "dimpatient" — that is, dim and impatient.
In one of two new spots that debuted during the Golden Globes telecast, Snickers highlights the negative effects of being hungry. A job interview goes horribly wrong when the interviewee tries to show off his social media skills by scrolling through pictures of him partying in Cancun, a mug shot, and one that he doesn't even remember taking. He proceeds to call the disgruntled interviewer before even leaving the room to follow up on the interview.
"Hunger keeps inventing new problems," says the voiceover. "So we invented new Snickers Crisper."
The new Snickers Crisper bar is the first Snickers bar with less than 200 calories per serving. A singles pack includes two squares at less than 100 calories each.
It promises multiple textures and delivers "crispy satisfaction" with crisped rice and peanuts topped with a layer of caramel and coated in Snickers milk chocolate.
The bar will be available at convenience, drug, grocery and value stores, mass retailers and vending machines. The brand will also roll out a fully integrated marketing campaign including advertising, in-store displays, and promotion.
"Snickers is all about satisfying hunger and we're excited to do that in a new and delicious way with Snickers Crisper," says Allison Miazga-Bedrick, director, Snickers brand. "Crisper delivers a new snacking option with a combination of textures, so it only made sense to highlight combinations of hilarious hunger symptoms in our supporting campaign as well."
