Drake's Devil Dogs are an original: two classic, fun-shaped Devils Food cakes, sandwiched around an abundance of rich, Drake's vanilla-flavored creme, first introduced in 1926.

McKee Foods Corp., the new owner of the iconic brand, says it’s launching four popular Drake’s snack cake varieties next week—Devil Dogs, Coffee Cakes, Ring Dings and Yodels. 

Consumers in the Northeast will soon be able to again enjoy Devil Dogs, Ring Dings and other Drake’s products, as McKee Foods Corp., the new owner of Drake’s, prepares to bring back the snack cakes in September.

Hostess Brands Inc. has obtained U.S. Bankruptcy Court approval to sell its Drake’s snack cake brand as well as four of its northwest regional bread brands in two separate transactions totaling approximately $58.4 million in proceeds.

McKee Foods Corp. has agreed to pay Hostess Brands inc. $27.5 million for the Drake's brand and certain equipment.

McKee Food, Collegedale, Tenn., reportedly will offer Hostess Brands Inc. approximately $27 million for its Drake’s brand, a maker of snack cakes.
