Hill & Valley, Inc. won six prestigious blue ribbons in the commercial bakery division at the 2009 American Pie Council championships held last month in Orlando, Fla. The Rock Island, Ill.-based manufacturer of sugar-free and no-sugar-added (NSA) snacks and desserts won for its Sugar Free Key Lime, NSA Pecan, NSA Blueberry, NSA Cherry, NSA Peach and NSA Pumpkin Crème pies. “Winning six awards is a record for us and vindicates our belief that our customers, who are either diabetic or health-conscious, do not have to compromise on taste when they want a sugar-free or NSA dessert,” says Scott Florence, chief executive officer. Hill Valley also is a national promotional sponsor of the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out Walk to Fight Diabetes.
