Dana Anderson has left her post as Mondelez International’s chief marketing officer to join MediaLink, a New York-based strategic advisory and business development firm.

Anderson — who has worked with Mondelez and its predecessor Kraft Foods since 2009, according to her LinkedIn page — will fulfill the same role at MediaLink. She will work from the firm’s Chicago office and will report to Michael Kassan, MediaLink’s chairman and ceo, AdAge said on Monday.

“With the marketplace we’re in right now, there’s never been a time I can think of that’s been better or stronger to have someone like Dana’s background,” Kassan told AdAge. “What Dana will bring above all is that client-side, agency-side leadership and a real global view.”

Anderson’s departure comes a week after Mondelez announced Roberto Marques will no longer serve as president of the confectionery and snack giant’s North American division. Tim Cofer, chief growth officer, will lead the division in the interim.

Earlier this month, the Wall Street Journal reported the company has begun the process to replace Chairman and CEO Irene Rosenfeld. The newspaper said Mondelez has retained Heidrick & Struggles International, an executive search firm. A Mondelez spokesman didn’t confirm that the company had started the replacement process and declined to comment on the retention of a search firm.
