After losing her battle with breast cancer last year, Ronni Feuer, founder and creator of FunkyChunky, was honored with a special edition flavor of her famous popcorn. But the popcorn, a combination of buttery caramel corn, glazed almonds, cashews and pecans drizzled with dark, milk, and pink chocolate, was made for another reason -- to provide help and healing to other women suffering with breast cancer.
Ten percent of the proceeds from the treat, aptly named Ronni’s Popcorn, are donated to the Minnesota-based organization Hope Chest for Breast Cancer Foundation. In March of this year, FunkyChunky presented a check to the foundation for $1224.83.
Hope Chest works to alleviate some of the financial stress cancer patients often face so that the women and their families can focus on what’s most important – healing. All proceeds donated to Hope Chest go directly to women facing financial hardships while undergoing breast cancer treatment.
The special-edition Ronni’s Popcorn is packaged in clear canisters tied with a pink ribbon to showcase the breast cancer connection. It -- like all other FunkyChunky products –- is handcrafted in small, made-to-order batches.
