In an effort to strengthen its foothold in the better-for-you snack category, Cloetta has acquired UK-based Goody Good Stuff.
“Acquisitions are a part of our growth strategy and Goody Goody Stuff gives us a possibility to strengthen our product offerings within an interesting segment,” says Bengt Baron, Cloetta’s ceo. “The products from Goody Good Stuff can be consumed by everyone as it is a natural candy free from allergens.”
After recently signing a national distribution agreement with a leading convenience store in the United States, Goody Good Stuff was bought by Cloetta from a group of investors for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition is part of the growth phases that both Cloetta and Goody Good Stuff are pursuing.
Popular in both the U.S. and UK markets, Goody Good Stuff prides itself on products that are all natural, allergen free and free of animal-based gelatin thanks to a unique process used to form the gummy snacks. As the requests for snacks that meet specific dietary needs increase, Goody Good Stuff will be there to answer the call. And so will Cloetta.
Concludes Baron, “This is a segment where we see increased consumer demand and where Cloetta can plan an important role.”
