Pretzel manufacturer J&J Snack Foods Corp. has tied the knot with a Chicago-based producer of the twisty food.
The Pennsauken, N.J.-based company announced Friday that it bought Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels, but it did not disclose the details of the deal.
Gerald B. Schreiber, president and ceo of J&J Snack Foods, says he is happy to bring Kim & Scott’s aboard and build on the brand known for using all-natural ingredients in its hand-twisted pretzels.
“We are pleased to welcome the Kim & Scott’s family into our organization,” Schreiber says. “We look forward to expanding the brand in the future.”
Scott Holstein, co-founder of Kim & Scott’s Pretzels, says he will continue to work for the company after the acquisition.
J&J Snack Foods Corp. manufactures brands such as Superpretzel soft pretzels, ICEE frozen beverages and Minute Maid frozen juice bars.
