Richardson Brands has a new senior vice president of sales, David Alvarez.
Alvarez was promoted to the role as part a realignment of senior management that the company says increases focus on new product development and expansion into new markets.
“Since Dave Alvarez joined Richardson Brands in December 2006 as eastern region vice president of sales, he’s significantly improved our presence in that region,” says Don Butte, the company’s ceo. “Through his efforts, we have restructured the sales portfolio, growing our most valued branded businesses.”
Alvarez previously worked at Nestle and Mission Foods as well at Acosta. He has a bachelor of business degree from the University of South Florida.
In addition to Alvarez’s new role, the Richardson realignment has resulted in the sales and marketing organization being separated into distinct units reporting directly to Butte. Kathy Hiserodt joined the company last year as senior vice president of marketing. In addition, new product development activities were consolidated at the Richardson plant in Canajoharie, N.Y. under Kalman Vadasz, president of research and development.
Richardson Brands operates a 180,000-sq.-ft. facility in Canajoharie, N.Y. They produce a variety of branded confectionery products, including soft sugar mints under the Richardson brand, chew candies and Beechies branded coated gum.
