A beaming David Greer, ceo and president of Londonberry, N.H.-based Wire Belt Co. of America, expertly snipped the blue ribbon last week Tuesday, signaling the opening of the company’s most recent expansion — a 12,000-sq.-ft. addition.
The new addition adds close to 25 percent more floor space, which will expand both office and manufacturing areas.
The addition reflects not only the need for the company to accommodate the growth of its recently introduced Versa-Link belt product, but also a commitment by Wire Belt to keep manufacturing jobs in New Hampshire.
“We are proud to manufacture our belts right here in Londonderry,” says Greer. “We know that New Hampshire depends on the manufacturing industry and we couldn’t be more thrilled to use this new addition to contribute to our local economy.”
Along with the addition of much needed space, the new building was built with energy efficiency in mind. A few of the building’s modern features include energy efficient windows, LED lighting, and occupancy sensors. Furthermore, the addition’s expanded roof will allow for the future extension of their current solar energy system.
Besides its Londonberry offices and plant, Wire Belt, a leading manufacturer of open-mesh stainless steel conveyor belting, has facilities in the UK and Germany. Founded in 1947, the company has prided itself on developing advanced conveyor and belting solutions to meet the automated processing needs of the food industry.
It was named “#1 Best Small Company to Work For in New Hampshire” by BusinessNH Magazine 4 out of the past 5 years.
