The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) and the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) unveiled a national consumer education campaign on March 3 to bolster awareness and understanding of the nutrient-based labeling system Facts Up Front.
The Food Marketing Institute (FMI), Arlington, Va., says its current board of officers will remain in their roles for another year to oversee the start of the association’s new strategic plan. FMI also says that next year’s show will be renamed "FMI Connect, The Global Food Retail Experience."
Grocery Manfacturers of America (GMA) honor Fred Morganthall, chairman of the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) and president and COO of Harris Teeter, won the Industry Collaboration Leadership award. ‘Collaboration is a requirement,’ Morganthall says of FMI and GMA. ‘We can't find solutions to problems ranging from government to food safety without working together.’
The Food Marketing Institute’s signature FMI Show will be held annually beginning in 2014. At this time, FMI is considering potential changes to the event and possible locations.
